Recombinant SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein (AT-P-03)
Coronaviruses are enveloped positive-sense RNA viruses. The most prominent feature of coronaviruses is the club-shape spike projecting from the surface of the virion. Human coronaviruses, first identified in the mid-1960s, are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV), Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). Moreover, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the virus strain severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), a virus closely related to the SARS virus. A SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen can be used to support the detection of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19, 2019-nCoV).
